Intermittent Operation And Continuous Operation Asphalt Emulsion Plant

According to the process flow, asphalt emulsion equipment can be divided into two types: intermittent operation type and continuous operation type.

1. The intermittent modified bitumen emulsion plant is prepared by blending emulsifier, acid, water, and latex modifier in a soap-blending tank, and then pumping it into the colloid mill. After a can of soap is used up, the soap is dispensed and the next can will be produced. When it is used in the production of modified emulsified asphalt, depending on the difference of modification process, the latex pipe can be connected before the colloid mill or after the colloid mill, or there is no special latex pipe, but the latex of the specified dose is manually added to the soap tank.

It is equipped with a soap-blending tank, so that the soap can be alternately blended to ensure uninterrupted feeding of the soap into the colloid mill. A considerable amount of asphalt emulsion plant in the world belongs to this type.

2. The continuous bitumen emulsion pumps the emulsifier, water, acid, latex modifier and asphalt to the colloid mill directly by means of a metering pump. The blending of the soap is completed in the transfer line.

According to the configuration, layout and maneuverability of the equipment, the asphalt emulsion equipment can be divided into three types: mobile, transportable and stationary.

1. The mobile asphalt emulsion plant is to fix the emulsifier blending device, the emulsifier, the asphalt pump, the control system and other parts on a dedicated tray. Since the production site can be transferred at any time, it is suitable for the preparation of emulsified asphalt at the construction site with scattered engineering, low dosage and frequent movement.

2. The transportable asphalt emulsion equipment is installed in one or two standard containers, which are respectively loaded and transported to realize the transfer of the construction site. The hoisting equipment can be quickly installed and combined into working state. The production capabilities can be divided into large, medium and small to meet different engineering requirements.

3. The stationary bitumen emulsion equipment generally relies on places with asphalt storage tanks such as asphalt plants or asphalt mixing machine stations. This kind of equipment aims to serve a relatively fixed customer group within a certain distance.  The stationary asphalt emulsion equipment is the main type of asphalt emulsion equipment in China.
